Curriculum in Review
Since I rank low on the creativity scale, I jumped at the opportunity to purchase the PreK ”Letter of the Week” curriculum created by Erica on the blog, Confessions of a Homeschooler. Visit her site at: http://confessionsofahomeschooler.blogspot.com/2010/02/letter-of-week.html
We began the curriculum late in our school year (I wish I had discovered Erica’s blog much earlier!) beginning with the letter T. Now we are focusing on the vowels which I realize is backwards from the original intent of the lesson plans. Yes, Erica includes lesson plans for each letter of the alphabet! I love that I can browse the folders and pick out the items for each day. And I also appreciate that she includes ABC Bible memory verses. I have used these for all three girls.
My youngest daughter loves the bright colors, graphics and manipulatives. I’ve even used the Roll A Xylophone game as friendly competition between my PreK level daughter and my daughter who is completing her kindergarten level.
I would never have the time, energy or the skill to compile such an extensive, creative and fun curriculum for my preschool child. I am thrilled that God opened my eyes to Erica’s blog. I am indebted to her.
